I give the new government a long enough life until Bulgaria enters the Eurozone. This is how economist Rumen Galabinov commented to FACTI on the choice of cabinet.
Bulgaria can become a member of the Eurozone, if not in the middle of this year, then at the latest in early 2026. We have fulfilled all the criteria for our admission and the regular government may request extraordinary convergence reports from the EC and the ECB by the end of the month, with which this can be proven and we can receive an official date for adopting the euro.
In my opinion, we covered the inflation criterion as early as the end of 2024, Galabinov commented. Regarding Schengen, I expect that the positive impact on our economy will be felt more noticeably in the second half of the year, when additional revenues from tourism and transport will be generated.
I expect nearly 1.5 billion in revenue in the budget for this year, as an effect of our admission to Schengen, Galabinov predicted to FAKTI.
