Plamen Dimitrov: The government shows a desire to put things in order and adopt the budget, and for it to be realistic - 1

There is great concern in the sphere of some agencies in the administration. For example, the one for nuclear regulation, from where they came out to protest. There, engineers monitoring the safety of the "Kozloduy" NPP, it turned out that they receive a salary of about 1,500 leva. There are many similar dissatisfied people whose salaries have not been touched for years. People may tolerate the new government for a maximum of two months. This was said in the studio of "In Focus" by the president of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CITUB).
He confirmed his belief that the salary increase should be at least 10%. "The government shows a desire to put things in order and adopt the budget, and for it to be realistic. It is unlikely that Temenuzhka Petkova will have much of an opportunity to make changes to the revenue and expenditure side. The extension law will be in effect until the end of March, so if we don't have a new budget by then, we will have to continue with the old one, and there are many problems with it. The minimum wage, for example, is not funded in all activities with delegated budgets. Additional targeted measures are needed, commented Dimitrov.

According to him, revenues may be higher in 2025. "6.5 billion more in taxes and social security contributions were collected in 2024. This is about 12% annual growth. In the social and agricultural spheres, they were supposed to receive salary increases, but this did not happen. Pragmatic policies must be put into action so that people get what they deserve. We had informal meetings with the new ministers, and next week there will be official ones. There are problems in the social, regional, and transport ministries. 18 billion is the increase in expenses over revenues. The economy is functioning, we are not at the bottom in terms of growth," emphasized the president of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions.
