The attack with bomb alerts at schools in our country is hybrid, coming from a Russian platform and a Russian mail server, but the sender can be anywhere in the world, including in Bulgaria, explained Commissioner Yavor Kolev, head of the "Cybercrime" department, to Nova TV.
He stated that the procedures in such cases are clear and every alert is considered real. The building must be inspected by the police and school staff, and only then can it be said whether classes continue with the permission of the school management.
In this case, the teams have conscientiously done their job, and the cybercrime specialists of the GDBOP continue the investigation. Such attacks are complex cross-border crimes, the detection of which requires international cooperation, Yavor Kolev specified.
Requests for help have been sent to the Russian company, whose server the platform is on, but we cannot filter it because it would affect thousands of users who use the mail, the expert commented.
