After the murder of 18-year-old Magdalena from Haskovo, dozens of different versions appeared in the public space, worrying thousands of parents. In her first television interview on “Hello, Bulgaria“ the girl's mother stated that she suspected a contract killing, and that her daughter's name was part of a list. The allegations that Maggie's name was crossed off such a list are already being investigated by the police.
A 17-year-old youth has been detained and charged for the murder that shook the city. Parents in Haskovo are worried that there are lists with the names of girls who will be sexually assaulted and filmed, and the videos – released on the dark web.
Svetlozara Dimitrova is one of them. Her child studies at the school of Magi and the detainees. “My child's name is one of those on the list. As reasonable people, we are aware that not everything may be true, but a mother's heart worries and seeks ways to save herself”, says the woman.
According to her, the purpose of these lists is to identify good-looking girls who would be of interest to men who tend to watch such videos on the Internet. “My daughter was called to the police for an interview. I hear that children from other cities are also reporting similar lists”, says Svetlozara.
