The Mayor of Pernik Municipality Stanislav Vladimirov will declare a partial state of emergency in the territory of the “Kamenina“ district, after a retaining wall collapsed in the area today, bTV reported.
The declaration is in accordance with the mayor's powers under the Disaster Protection Act, the municipal administration announced.
At the site of the collapse are Mayor Vladimirov, Deputy Mayor Eng. Boris Tomov, as well as the team of the Emergency Rescue Team of Pernik Municipality. Specialists are inspecting and assessing the situation to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
Work on strengthening the terrain and restoring the fallen retaining wall will begin tomorrow.
Emergency restoration activities are planned to ensure the long-term stability of the facility.
The mayor called on residents of the neighborhood to be careful and assured that the municipality will act with maximum speed to restore their security.
