While the GFS weather model shows a possible change in atmospheric circulation, ECMWF (European Center for Medium-Range Forecasts) warns of an upcoming heat wave that will affect Bulgaria and the entire region. Meteo Balkans forecasters are warning of dangerously high temperatures in the coming days.

"Maintaining extremely high temperatures (up to and above 25°C at 850 hPa, which corresponds to 38-42°C at the surface in some areas)", Meteo Balkans indicates.

Meanwhile, the NIMH forecast for the upcoming weekend shows a certain division in weather conditions. At night over the western half of the country it will be mostly clear. In the eastern part of Bulgaria, there will be significant cloudiness and short-term rain showers will be observed in some places.

For tomorrow, mostly sunny weather is expected over most of the country. Over Eastern Bulgaria, cloudiness will be significant, with cumulus and cumulus-rainy clouds developing in the afternoon, which will lead to short-term precipitation and thunderstorms in some areas.

The wind will be light to moderate from the north-northwest. Maximum temperatures will range between 25° and 30°, reaching around 25° in Sofia.

In the mountainous regions, the weather will be mainly sunny, but around and after noon, cumulus-rainy clouds will develop over the massifs in Eastern Bulgaria, accompanied in places by short-term precipitation and thunderstorm activity. Moderate wind will blow mainly from the north, and maximum temperatures at 1200 meters altitude will be around 18°, and at 2000 meters – around 12°.

The Black Sea region will be characterized by significant cloudiness, which will develop into cumulus and cumulus-rainy in the afternoon. In places, mainly along the northern coast, there will be short-term rain and thunderstorms. The wind will be light to moderate from the east-southeast, and maximum temperatures will reach 22°-24°. The sea water temperature is 22°-23°, and the sea waves will be around 2 points.

For Sunday and Monday, the forecast predicts mostly sunny weather in most of the country, with no precipitation. Cumulus clouds will develop in the eastern and mountainous regions in the afternoon, with isolated places, more likely on Sunday, experiencing short-term rain.

It will be almost quiet during the night, and a light wind will blow during the day, mainly from the north-northwest. Daytime temperatures will continue to rise, with maximum values on Monday between 28° and 33°.
