The Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov held a meeting with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bulgaria, H.E. Ms. Dai Qing Li.
The two discussed opportunities for promoting trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and China.
At the meeting it became clear that for the first three months of 2025 the total trade exchange with the People's Republic of China amounted to just over one billion USD. USD, with a growth of 27.8% compared to the same period last year.
Minister Dilov emphasized that there is significant untapped potential for increasing economic results and bilateral trade.
"We are considering the development of bilateral trade and economic relations in the context of Bulgaria's full membership in the European Union and the Schengen Area", Dilov added.
According to him, new opportunities are being sought to expand the export of Bulgarian businesses to various markets.
He pointed out that the Bulgarian side is striving to attract investments in sectors in which Bulgaria has traditional advantages, as well as in those that provide high added value and increase the competitiveness of the economy. Among them are mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and auto parts production, electronics and electrical engineering, information and communication technologies, agriculture and the food industry.
For his part, Ambassador Dai Qing Li expressed confidence that the good relations between the two countries will continue to develop, indicating that China values the partnership with Bulgaria.
The two also discussed opportunities for development and joint projects in sectors of common interest.
