Parvan Simeonov: There are two circumstances that save the government. One is the divided opposition - 1

The government naturally wants a full mandate, but do the citizens want it?

The government does not distinguish itself from the arrest of the mayor of Varna and loses from it, said the creator and owner of the sociological agency "Measure" Parvan Simeonov in an interview with Bulgarian National Radio.

"Because when the Sofia story appeared, the arrest of the deputy mayor of the Sofia Municipality, trust was shaken and Kiril Petkov's resignation was a breakthrough in the PP. Now the PP is coming to a standstill. This is the first uncomfortable situation for them, Borisov realized it, said: "Why did this happen around the euro". For him, the division is along the axis east - west and euro - against the euro," Simeonov explained.

According to him, there are two circumstances that save the government. One is the divided opposition:

"Currently, blue and red cannot stand each other, because the war in Ukraine and the euro happened, and the space between them has expanded. The second circumstance is that 4 years have passed in a crisis caused by protests and many people know that this has not led to anything good. Now I don't see how Peevski's expansion will work and I have no doubt that he is applying for one of the two forces in the country.
The sociologist believes that one option is that Bulgarians say: "That's it, we found our master before Borisov, now Peevski".

The second is that Bulgarians are bitter and irritated. They protest and in the first elections they vote punitively, and assign the punishment to be carried out by Rumen Radev or someone else.

Simeonov also pointed out that there is an option for Peevski, being increasingly demonized, to realize that it is time for political, not technological action:

"Peevski should become a little more acceptable to the mass taste, and not just to the sector he is looking for. And it is important if he claims to govern Bulgaria, otherwise the patient Bulgarians may react".

The sociologist commented that there are again two types of protests that Radev tried to unite, but this time it will be difficult for him:

"The war changed the country. People are protesting in both cases for the euro and against electoral justice – not for justice, in my opinion it is for dignity. The government is in a difficult situation because it has forgotten that the energy of 2020 has not been exhausted, has not gone somewhere. This energy is looking for a new owner. It may or may not find one, but this government is not loved again, it is the only possible one and does not inspire inspiration, but tolerance".

Parvan Simeonov warned that the biggest mistakes of such a government come from self-forgetfulness and vindictiveness.

"There is tolerance and forbearance, the only mistakes are not in the sense that it will be swept away by the opposition, because it is divided. The problem is with overdoing it, over-salting the dish - this is where the big political mistakes come from. It seems to me that there are beginnings of such mistakes in the current government model, no matter how stable it is," Simeonov predicted.
