At a briefing for journalists, Kostadin Kostadinov expressed the determination of the parliamentary group to support every vote of no confidence submitted against the government, in an effort to stop the "incompetence and national betrayal" in the country's governance.
He stated that the position of the political organization was clear a month ago and is committed to support "regardless of what the motives are, and whether they are of friends or enemies".
Kostadinov emphasized that "Vazrazhdane" propose to submit votes not once, but almost monthly, because they believe that the parliament can subject the government to continuous pressure through these mechanisms. In his words, this possibility - 2-3 votes per month - would paralyze the executive branch:
“The idea was and continues to be to do everything necessary to stop the work of this government... to make a schedule in which we would literally hold a vote of no confidence 2-3 times a month.“
Unfortunately, according to him, the other opposition parties do not show readiness for support: “Unfortunately, we do not meet support and development of these initiatives of ours from this side, from the other so-called opposition forces.“
He specified that “Vazrazhdane“ have prepared their own draft of a vote of no confidence in the government, and have also prepared the reasons for it, focused mainly on the worsening water crisis in the country and the complete helplessness of the ruling party to deal with it. According to him, although they have invited other opposition forces to join, they have not received support with signatures so far, which according to him shows that many formally call themselves the opposition, but in reality provide comfort to the cabinet.
Kostadinov pointed out that the current situation is absurd and that the ruling party is doing everything possible to delay the votes, which according to him leads to a “peaceful summer vacation“ for the government. He called on the National Assembly to convene in extraordinary session to submit the text today and thus not allow the cabinet to evade responsibility.
The chairman of “Vazrazhdane“ He also criticized the current administration, describing it as “incompetent, national traitors“, and pointed out the huge loans the government plans to withdraw - an additional 6 billion leva, this time for armaments, which will bring the total state debt to over 22 billion leva in 7 months. In his words, this is a sign of “deliberately leading the state to bankruptcy“.
