President Rumen Radev is returning provisions from the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Health Insurance Law for new discussion in the National Assembly. Prof. Kostadin Angelov from GERB-SDF commented on "Facebook" Radev's decision to impose a veto.
"I understand that the president has imposed another veto. I want to explain to him that the adopted legal changes to the Health Insurance Act are not intended to violate patient or other rights, but quite the opposite.
They aim to protect all rights, both of those with health insurance and of patients who are not health insured, but whose needs are paid for by the contributions of everyone else. This is how I understand the solidarity insurance model.
There are many imbalances in the healthcare system and the pressure of the legislator is to restore balance and justice for every patient.
The president does not understand anything about healthcare, but is trying to play politics once again, but this time he will not succeed," he wrote on his Facebook profile.
