The Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadjov ordered an inspection after a scandal at the “Vasil Levski” airport in Sofia. The reason is a claim by the ground operator about excess baggage, because of which a female passenger was not allowed to board the plane.
The situation is currently unfolding before the passengers are put on the bus to the plane. The reason for the tension, according to the ground operator's employees, is that the woman behaved aggressively.
In a statement to NOVA, the transport minister explained that he was extremely outraged by, I quote, the "outrageous behavior of the employee of the ground operator “Goldair Handling Bulgaria”.
Karadzhov ordered a review of the camera recordings, and so far it has been established that the ground operator has not fulfilled its obligations. In the afternoon, the manager of “Goldair Handling” was summoned to the Civil Aviation Administration, where he was imposed the highest fine. Karadzhov announced that he was warned that in the next such case his license would be revoked.
