The fire, which broke out yesterday in the land of the border village of Lesovo, crossed the Tundzha River and entered the territory of Haskovo region, in the area of the village of Radovets in Topolovgrad.
Due to a potential danger to people and property, the residents and staff of the specialized home for the elderly with mental disorders in the village of Radovets have been evacuated, the Regional Administration - Haskovo announced.
There is also another active fire in Topolovgrad region - forests near the village of Vladimirovo. 10 fire brigade teams are operating in the area of the village of Radovets, and in the village of Vladimirovo – two.
In connection with the complicated situation, a partial state of emergency has been declared for the Municipality of Topolovgrad. The road between the villages of Ustrem and Radovets is closed to traffic, as the fire has spread from both sides of the road section.
A fire has closed the main Sofia - Varna road near Novo Selo. Dry grass is burning. At this hour, teams of the "Traffic Police" are blocking off the section at the junction for the village of Dobromirka. Cars will be redirected via Byala Cherkva - Mihaltsi - Musina.
There are already fire crews at the scene of the incident, fighting the fire. At the moment, there is no danger to the population.
Traffic through the "Troyan - Karnare" pass has been restored, but firefighting operations in the area are still ongoing.
The police are appealing to drivers to drive with increased caution.
