6 helicopters and 2 planes are extinguishing the large fire in Pirin. The village of Ploski is safe. This was announced by Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, director of the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" at a briefing on the fires in the country, quoted by BNT.
The Ministry of Interior assured that since the evacuation in the village of Ploski, police teams have been patrolling around the clock to prevent thefts in the properties. When asked when the residents of Ploski will be able to return to their homes, Dzhartov replied: "Once we are sure that their safety is ensured, and today there was a wind that changed its direction and ignited new outbreaks, so let the citizens be patient, we will know more tomorrow morning. They will return to their homes as soon as possible."
Today was also a difficult day for the firefighters. "We worked intensively to control these new outbreaks that arose as a result of the strong wind. Overall, the positive thing is that we have not lost any positions and there is no danger to the settlements. However, any front that is not controlled is critical. Clearings have been built towards the village of Lilyanovo and there will be no problem there," Dzhartov added.
