“The state had to be restarted. After eight consecutive elections, the systems stopped working. The government is complex, it is composed of parties with ideological differences, but with a common goal - to stabilize the state. The leitmotif of BSP-OL in it is to make social responsibility a state policy.“ This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP Kaloyan Pargov on BNT.
According to him, in the joint government, a correct attitude is observed between the parties in it, with a search for consensus and making compromises. “For example, for the declaration against Russia adopted a few days ago, which gathered a majority of GERB, DPS-NN and PP-DB, with respect to which BSP - OL is at the opposite pole. This did not disrupt relations in the coalition. Thanks to us, the project for concluding a 10-year contract with Ukraine was rejected. This was a concession from our partners, as well as for the reactors of the “Belene“ NPP, which were not sold“, pointed out Pargov.
According to him, it is not easy to manage, especially in a disastrous situation like the current one with the fires. “At such a moment, solidarity is needed, not only in Bulgaria, but also in Europe“, said Kaloyan Pargov. He gave an example of the increased support for families affected by the fires by 3,000 leva, as proposed by Social Minister Gutsanov.
„The BSP must expand its electoral support, like any formation with ambitions. One of the tools for this is our participation in governing the social policy that we stand for. We do not deny our electorate. A tool for this “, Pargov was categorical.
The socialist also emphasized the need to change the tax and social security model, which the left will raise with its partners in the government.
Kaloyan Pargov recalled that the KPONPI was transformed into the CPC at the request of the PP-DB. „We can be critical of the way the Commission acts, because it raises suspicions of one-sidedness. "If the government manages to negotiate that the reform of this system does not affect the 5 billion leva that we should receive from the PVU, there is a need for such a reform," commented the deputy chairman of the BSP. According to him, many of the functions of the CPC can be taken over by other bodies such as the Court of Audit, the Personal Data Protection Commission and the State Agency for National Security.
„Our ambition is for Bulgaria to have a president from the BSP again“, Pargov was categorical. According to him, it is normal to first discuss the candidacy of the current vice president Iliyana Yotova, who is also part of the party.
„We want to show Buzludzha that despite all the predictions of the disappearance of the left for the last 35 years, we will join new members in the coalition „BSP - UNITED LEFT“. We have put an end to the schism and division. This gathering will show that we are united and determined to take the country to a higher level. The conversation about the future is yet to come," said Kaloyan Pargov about the traditional gathering in Buzludzha, which will be held this week, at which the left will celebrate 134 years of organized socialist movement in Bulgaria.
