A real nightmare has been experienced by dozens of owners and tourists in an apartment complex in the resort of “Sunny Beach”, after an intentional fire broke out in the early hours of the day a week ago. The flames engulfed the lobby and the staircase to the second floor, and the suffocating smoke crawled along the corridors of the building, in which over 60 people were sleeping at the time. Panic was complete, and people felt trapped.
Neighbors say that the tension began last year, but at the beginning of this summer season it escalated. Some time ago, the 68-year-old aggressive man attacked Nikolay with a knife, he said.
„We were in the pool with my wife. I got out and wrapped myself in a towel. I went to the lounge chair and suddenly he started banging and pushing the lounge chair. My wife screamed „There's a knife!”. He was walking straight towards me, he wanted to kill me. Why? I have no idea”, Nikolay added to his story.
Fortunately, the fire started early in the morning and there were no children in the playground next to the complex.„Last year he attacked children and young parents”, says Vasil, who lives in the building. According to him, the aggressive man did not stop drinking alcohol.
A Ukrainian woman who fled the war in her homeland with her 2-year-old grandson said that she encountered a second terror in our country. “The child is afraid to go out”, the woman says.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs specified that the man was not detained because doctors forbade this. Back in time, he was committed to a mental health center, but was released from there. The 68-year-old man lives alone, but had a son and a daughter. His neighbors insist that they take care of their father.
