Kiselova: BSP's PG can take responsibility that other parliamentary groups have not dared to take over the years - 1

These months in which we have been working as a parliamentary group, and I as the Speaker of the National Assembly, have not been the easiest in my life, and in the lives of all of us, but they have shown that “BSP – United Left“ can take responsibility that other parliamentary groups, with higher results, have not dared to take over in previous years. This was stated by Natalia Kiselova at the opening in Stara Zagora of a national conference under the title “BSP – United Left: successes and challenges“, reports BTA.

The event is attended by the leaders of the coalition, ministers, MPs, mayors, municipal councilors, experts.

Kiselova pointed out that taking responsibility also has its negatives and presented to the conference participants a brief report on her work at the last session of the National Assembly. “When we were sworn in in November, the rating of the National Assembly was seven percent and everyone expected that it would go to elections. Last week, a survey was released and it gives us a 14 percent rating. This is also the result of the efforts of “BSP –United Left“ – the National Assembly to return to the usual parliamentary practice, namely that the discussion should be through the parliamentary rostrum and to return to the parliamentary language that we have known for many years“, Kiselova told the attendees.

The Speaker of the Parliament drew attention to the rejection of the request initiated by the “BSP – United Left“ to declare the list from which the president selects a potential prime minister to propose a caretaker government unconstitutional, and to declare the situation that deputies with dual citizenship can be such unconstitutional. “This will have a bearing on the activities of both the National Assembly and the government as a whole in the future“, commented Kiselova.

She noted that for three months of work of the National Assembly – from May to July, 1,166 questions and seven interpellations were submitted, while only 10 years ago over 1,000 questions and interpellations were submitted for an entire term. “The two ministers who are most often subject to parliamentary scrutiny are Ivan Ivanov and Manol Genov, who are in the National Assembly almost every week to answer parliamentary questions. This shows that the interest in their areas is great and results can be seen in specific settlements“, pointed out Natalia Kiselova.
