The end of the parliamentary political season, commented journalist Valeria Veleva in the BNT studio.

She presented a brief chronological overview of the main events of it.

In summary of her words:

  1. Bulgaria has emerged from the spiral of endless elections;
  2. Our country has taken an important step forward, officially receiving a date for membership in the eurozone;
  3. Boyko Borisov has returned to power and formed a government built on compromises.
  4. The "Zhelyazkov" cabinet has managed to realize itself in a seemingly impossible situation with the main intention of preventing new elections and guaranteeing stability.
  5. Delyan Peevski has established himself as one of the leading figures in politics.

According to the journalist, votes of no confidence are not a real threat to the government. Nor are the protests that we are seeing at the moment. According to Veleva, they are political. And a real danger to the government will exist if the dissatisfaction acquires a social character.

She also saw another option that would bring some shock to the cabinet. "At least two of the parties from the ruling majority will present their own candidate in the presidential elections next year. In this sense, GERB and BSP will be in the roles of main competitors. If the GERB candidate loses these elections, it will have a bad effect on the ruling coalition. Then a vote of confidence or a vote of no confidence can be requested," Veleva believes.

A threat to Borisov, according to her, exists. And her name is Rumen Radev.
