The President of the European Center for Transport Policies Diana Rusinova published photos of a new serious accident on the road between the villages of Lyutidol and Novachene. The expert once again warned about the serious problems with the temporary organization of traffic in this section, which mislead drivers.
Rusinova pointed out that she had repeatedly warned about the danger of the temporary organization in the area. "The temporary organization in the section misleads drivers that traffic is carried out in two separate lanes, while in reality there is only one - in the direction of the town of Mezdra", she explained on her "Facebook" profile.
The road expert made a specific proposal to solve the problem. "We urgently requested the installation of 4 additional road signs, as well as traffic dividers", wrote Rusinova.
Even more unusual is her proposal to the "Road Infrastructure" Agency. "I express my readiness, if the RIA or the contractor of LOT I on road I-1 do not have the necessary road signs, to give them to them", the expert emphasized.
Rusinova concluded her message with a categorical warning about the need for urgent action. "Measures must be taken urgently, because accidents are daily", she added.
This road section already attracted public attention last month, when a video was published showing two heavy trucks driving in the oncoming lane. Then experts explained that drivers get confused when switching from one-way to two-way traffic due to insufficiently clear signaling.
