Bobov Dol TPP is technologically ready to introduce gas as fuel for the plant. However, the necessary permits for this are being delayed for administrative reasons, said company employees after the protest of local residents from Golemo Selo, who demanded guarantees that pollution in the region will stop. The introduction of gas will significantly reduce the currently permitted pollution of the region, experts say.

The two-kilometer route for introducing blue fuel has been built with an outlet from the main gas pipeline to Macedonia. The necessary equipment has also been purchased - burners, measurement and control systems, the equipment is Italian. However, the relevant permits for gas supply to the power plant are still being delayed. That is why the "Bobov Dol" TPP continues to burn coal and biomass, straw, notes the company's executive director, Eng. Chavdar Stoynev.
The power plant is undergoing repairs to the second unit.
"Currently, a major repair is being carried out to the second unit, which is expected to be operational in October, so everything will be fine there. Such a major repair has not been done with the replacement of all heating surfaces. Since I have been at the TPP, a very major repair has begun, which has not been done for 30 years," said Eng. Stoynev.
