Two men made a citizen's arrest to stop a drunk bus driver. The incident took place yesterday, at around 6:30 p.m., after the vehicle was noticed swerving on the Pomorie - Sunny Beach road, creating the conditions for an accident.
In the area near the warehouse, a 47-year-old man from Shumen and another, 42 years old from Nessebar, driving behind the bus, noticed the risky driving and the incorrect "u-turn" maneuver performed by the bus driver on the main Burgas - Varna road, stopped the vehicle and made a civil arrest of the driver.
It was established that the 51-year-old Ukrainian driver driving the bus was driving after consuming alcohol with a concentration of 2.73 per mille.
The bus driver was detained with a police warrant for up to 24 hours, having refused to give blood for chemical analysis. An expedited proceeding has been initiated in the case.
The director of the Burgas Regional Office of the Ministry of Interior, Senior Commissioner Vladimir Marinov, will award certificates of appreciation to the two citizens who demonstrated an active position, initiative and resourcefulness in carrying out the citizen's arrest.
