Checks on the country's roads in the midst of summer continue. According to the Ministry of Interior on Monday - within the framework of a specialized police operation to comply with the Road Traffic Act, about 18 thousand drivers and passengers were checked. Over 4 thousand and 600 tickets and 800 acts for administrative violations were drawn up.
The campaign is aimed at drivers who got behind the wheel after using alcohol or drugs. The police also remind drivers to observe speed limits, the required distance between cars and to use seat belts.
