A partial state of emergency will be introduced today in Haskovo municipality due to the fire that broke out yesterday near the village of Momino. This was announced by the deputy mayor of the municipality Dinko Tenev, quoted by BTA.
The flames engulfed forest areas and agricultural lands between the villages of Momino and Elena yesterday afternoon, with the affected area being about 1000 decares. The fire has also engulfed piles of wood after logging.
There are currently five fire trucks and a bulldozer at this fire site, which is clearing clearings, said the director of the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" Mitko Chakalov.
According to him, the situation surrounding the large fire in Sakar Mountain, which broke out in the protected area "Radinchevo" and destroyed over 30,000 acres in the municipalities of Harmanli and Lyubimets, is calm. There are separate outbreaks that our on-duty teams are working on, Chakalov specified.
The partial state of emergency remains in the municipalities of Harmanli and Lyubimets.
