The Nomination Committee, which will hear and evaluate candidates for members of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), is meeting for a second meeting. It will be held in the National Assembly building at 10:30 a.m., according to the parliament's website.
The Nomination Committee is expected to decide on the eligibility of candidates for the ACC at its meeting today. There are four candidates for members of the CPC - lawyer Adelina Natina-Zikolova, lawyer Maria Daskalova, lawyer Petar Koev and Stoyan Petkov.
It is also expected that the date on which the candidates for the CPC will be heard will be determined.
BTA recalls that members of the Nomination Commission are Venera Milova (Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice), attorney Nina Sedefova (member of the Supreme Bar Council), Kalin Kalpakchiev (member of the Supreme Court of Cassation), Aisun Akdjiev (Secretary General of the Ombudsman), Silvia Kadreva (Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts).
The Nomination Commission held its first meeting on August 1. The chairwoman of the commission, Silvia Kadreva, told the media at the time that she hoped that the procedure for selecting members and leadership of the Anti-Corruption Commission would be completed by the end of August.
