A total of 13 derailed wagons near the Simeonovgrad village of Pyasuchevo, where a freight train with 34 wagons overturned this morning.
"At least eight of them are fuel tanks", said bTV Director of the General Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection“ (GDPBZN), Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, who arrived at the scene of the incident.
He indicated that diesel fuel is still leaking.
"The teams' efforts are aimed at preventing further fuel leakage and a new ignition. "Perfect work by colleagues on the spot," said Commissioner Dzhartov.
He also pointed out that there is no danger to the population of the village.
The causes of the incident are still being clarified. It is not yet clear how much fuel in the derailed tankers leaked.
