We are used to criminals robbing banks, threatening with a gun or demanding cash. In Stara Zagora, however, a man stole as many as 51 chocolates, NOVA reported.
Veselin Kirilov is the owner of a small shop. He equipped it with cameras and, thanks to video surveillance, revealed the large theft of 51 chocolates. “The act was committed during daylight hours in the presence of other customers, which speaks of the necessary amount of experience and confidence in the perpetrator”, he says. The shop owner says that at first glance, small and petty thefts have become an everyday occurrence and a serious part of the turnover of the establishments.
Unfortunately, many shop owners do not report petty thefts to the police. “Due to lack of free time, very few colleagues will commit to reporting the thefts, but this is the only and correct way to stop the thefts”, says Veselin.
The chocolate thief has been detained, and thefts in the region are increasing. In Kazanlak, for example, a young man did not hesitate and stole a box of donations for a sick child. The thief turned out to be a minor. More and more such thefts are being committed by minors, store owners say.
