Three outbreaks of fires broke out today in the Veliko Tarnovo region. According to initial information, the cause is a malfunctioning heavy truck, which caused fires in various places, bTV reported.
Two of the outbreaks – in the Debelets region and the western entrance to the city – have already been localized.
The flames reached the yards of two houses, but were extinguished in time, without injuries.
Fire brigade teams, volunteers and heavy equipment are working on the ground, and the deputy mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Georgi Nedev is also on site.
The most serious situation is with the third outbreak – in the region of Prisovskite zavove and the military plant “Terem – Ivaylo“. For safety reasons, the main road Veliko Tarnovo - Gurkovo in this section is closed to traffic.
Teams from Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa and Dryanovo are participating in the extinguishing, as well as bulldozers that are making clearings. Dozens of volunteers have also arrived on site.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Department - Veliko Tarnovo reports.
