The Trouble to Help: When the Institutions Don't Help - Make Your Own Road Signs - 1

When the institutions don't help you, you call for help from the trouble and make templates and road signs yourself, limiting the speed of cars in your native village. The place of the incident is the Bobov Dol village of Babinska Reka, and the creator of the road signs is Sasho Simeonov, reports BNT.

The main street in the village of Babinska Reka looks more like a highway than a country road, locals complain.
Nikolay Bachev: "Here they drive at 100 km, maybe even more. Extremely fast. You can't see the number on the car if you're a little older."

Kostadinka Zaharieva: "Very quickly, something needs to be decided".

And local resident Sasho Simeonov decided – to make his own templates and road signs to urge drivers to drive slower through the settlement. In ten places in the village, he placed a call for drivers to drive at 40 km/h.

"Because I'm fed up with it, since there is no organization and solution to the issue, and I had to make the first template. And I started from the first pillar, so far there are 10 places, either on a pillar, or on an electrical panel or a trash can, I wrote 40 km in ten places, but no one pays any attention at all, "explains Simeonov.

I made a second template, even a third.

"I made the big one for the asphalt horizontally to put it on the third one too– request “40 km".

The signs don't give much result, admits Sasho Simeonov, so he wrote a complaint to the municipality in Bobov Dol with a request to build police stations. He has been waiting for an answer for two months.

"I suggested to his neighbor that we make our own, there is a possibility that we have seen rubber speed bumps or even whole tires, but they told me that this is illegal – if, God forbid, one of the bolts flies out and a tire bursts, I will be prosecuted", the man also says.

The municipality in Bobov Dol announced to BNT that the proposal to build speed bumps along the main street of the village of Babinska Reka has been considered and speed bumps will be built as soon as possible.
