The Burgas District Prosecutor's Office will reclassify the charge against Nikola Burgazliev, who on August 14 in Sunny Beach crushed five people with an electric ATV.

This was said before today's court hearing in the case by the spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office, Hristo Kolev.

The charge will be changed from causing medium to causing serious bodily harm. The protest in front of the Burgas Courthouse continues.

About the incident:

A week ago, 18-year-old Nikola Burgazliev hit five pedestrians on a sidewalk in the Sunny Beach resort. The condition of two of the victims remains critical - a 35-year-old woman from Plovdiv and her 4-year-old son.

The young man was charged with causing moderate bodily harm to more than one person, and the magistrates imposed a preventive measure of "house arrest" on him, which the prosecutor's office appealed.

Yulian Zdravkov, the father of the two children who were hit, said that Burgazliev's measure will be considered at 2 p.m.:

On Thursday, the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov assigned the case to the National Investigation Service. His reasons: The facts and circumstances to be established require the investigation to be carried out by an investigator with a high degree of qualification and experience in the work, given the legal complexity of the case.
