A 78-year-old man died in the hospital last night, where he was taken for treatment, after a large tree branch fell on him on "Maritsa-Sever" Blvd. in Plovdiv, the municipality announced. The incident was confirmed to BTA by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior-Plovdiv.
On August 23, at around 11:00, a report was received on tel. 112 about a large tree branch breaking. The branch fell on the elderly man who was standing on a bench. The intervention of a fire brigade team was necessary, and then the victim was transported by ambulance to hospital for medical assistance.
According to the data of the “Northern” district, no signals have been received for the specific tree. Teams from the city hall began an immediate inspection and full inspection of the trees in the area. The municipality called on citizens to submit signals about suspicious or dangerous trees to the district administrations.
At the end of May, an operation began to remove, load and transport dried-up tree species on the slopes and around the alleys of Sahat Tepe.
