Citizens of Pleven have protested, NOVA reported. The reason is the chronic water shortage and the heavy regime.
On Friday, the city's Crisis Headquarters identified several basic measures that will solve the problem in the long term, and the state allocated 40 million leva for repairs to the water supply network.
The protest is announced for 5:30 pm in front of the Water Supply and Sewerage Department, after which it will move to the Pleven Municipality.
Residents of the city complain that they have water at 3 am and 3 pm, and in privileged places.
„I just went into the bathroom and the water stopped. I was working the night shift, when I get home the water stops”, said Vladimir Velichkov.
„We want real, adequate actions. We don't want pre-project studies of the Cherni Osam dam, where everyone is against this thing. They just want some money to be taken and only have something on paper. We want pipes to be replaced, we want clear criteria. What is the value of the pipes that will be replaced, who will perform it, at what prices, what terms, what guarantee? Because now a crisis headquarters is being announced in order to declare a state of emergency, to distribute some money to their own companies and we are again in the same dead end. We want control of the funds spent, we want water as soon as possible. Water is being stolen for millions, I will prove it”, said Borislav Tsvetanov, organizer of the protest.
