The “Maritime Administration“ Directorate of the Ministry of Transport should be responsible for the serviceability of the equipment of sea attractions in the future. This is proposed by the Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadjov as changes to the regulations regulating such types of attractions.
The decision comes less than a week after the government's recognition that there are serious gaps in the control of extreme attractions, and the subsequent order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to immediately begin work on preparing the necessary regulations. The reason for the emergency measures was the incident in Nessebar, in which an 8-year-old child fell into the sea from a height of 50 meters and died after the seat belts broke.
Karadzhov's proposals are expected to be considered at the meeting of the Council of Ministers today.
