For almost a week now, the Strazhitsa village of Kesarevo has been in a partial state of emergency. The reason is hurricane wind, accompanied by heavy rain and hail, which caused significant damage.
The mayor of Strazhitsa Municipality Yordan Tsonev issued an indefinite order to declare a partial state of emergency in the settlement.
There is serious damage to public buildings. In the “Vazpitatel 1895“ community center, shutters have been blown away, roof tiles have been broken, the sheet metal cladding has been damaged and drainpipes have been displaced.
Similar damage has also occurred to the “St. Dimitar“ church, which has been declared an artistic monument of culture – tiles fell there and part of the roof covering was damaged.
The Municipal Disaster Management Headquarters has been activated, and the plan for eliminating the consequences is being implemented under the direct leadership of the mayor. The Veliko Tarnovo Regional Governor and the Minister of Internal Affairs have been notified of the situation.
Over 1,500 people live in Kesarevo. The village is also known for its healing spring, called ayazmo, which springs up once a year - on July 17, the day of St. Marina. Then people from all over the country come to Kesarevo to pour themselves water in the hope of healing from various health problems.
