More than a month has passed since a tragedy that occurred at the “Bobov Dol” TPP. A worker died in a grinding machine, and the information at the time was that he entered the facility to inspect it, but it suddenly activated. It later became clear that the remote control for activating it was with the victim. Relatives of the deceased are seeking the truth about the incident.
"He was not an irresponsible person who would go in and end his own life. Did anyone give him any instructions? Did they monitor how he entered the machine? His colleagues said that the remote control was intact. They returned three parts of it, and the remote control in its entirety,” said Yordan Yonchev, nephew of the deceased.
"In order for them to go in and clean the machine, there is someone who orders them. You can't do it on your own", commented a friend of the deceased.
Yonchev also said that the company his uncle worked for did not call to express condolences.
"He had been working there for two years, had enough experience, he trained other people," the nephew also said.
The “Bobov Dol” TPP issued a statement. They emphasize that the case is being investigated by the competent authorities.
“The man who died a month ago at the site of the “Bobov Dol” TPP was an employee of a partner company - “Heat Energy” EOOD, and not of the power plant itself. Once again, the two companies express their most sincere condolences to the relatives. The case is being investigated by the competent authorities. All employees and those present at the ridiculous incident are cooperating with the investigating authorities”, the position says.
“What happened is a tragedy. Neglecting safety rules has fatal consequences and today we all mourn a good person, friend and colleague“, say “Heat Energy” and TPP “Bobov Dol”, quoted by the power plant's press center.
The company says that relatives of the ridiculously deceased have not contacted them, and according to information from his colleagues, he lived alone. “At this stage of the investigation, we can only assure them that clarifying the objective truth is extremely important for both the investigative authorities and each of the company's team”, the position says. “Compliance with safety rules and production standards is a mandatory condition in any production process, which saves lives”, the TPP adds.
