The founder of the Rusagro company - one of the largest agricultural holdings in Russia, Vadim Moshkovich, accused in his homeland of fraud and abuse of office, is the owner of a luxury villa in Nice, France, RIA Novosti reported, citing data from registration documents of the relevant country.
The businessman's name is mentioned in the documents as one of the directors of the current company Prospérité (Prosperity) - its headquarters is registered at the address of a villa in Nice. The company's main activity is the rental of plots of land and other real estate.
The above-mentioned property is located on a 40,000 sq m plot on the Mediterranean coast, on a slope descending from the road, which does not allow you to see the house itself, hidden from view behind a fence and a gate. The fence is installed in such a way that it is difficult to jump over: there is nothing to hold on to, and the edges of the iron palisade are pointed. In several places you can see barbed wire, in addition, there is a video camera at the entrance to the property.
In the meantime, the place, according to local brokers, has been abandoned. So, on Google maps from 2023, information boards are visible to the right of the entrance, but now there is nothing in their place. According to a broker who has never been to the property, until 2022 there was a 24-hour security guard at the entrance to the property. No one has been there since then. Real estate agent Prestige Marcela, in turn, said that the villa could be worth 18 million EUR due to its convenient location on the seashore.
The arrest of Vadim Moshkovich became known on March 26. The charges against the billionaire are related to the seizure of the oil and fat holding “Solenochnye produkty“, owned by Vladislav Burov. Based on his statement, a criminal case was opened against the founder of the Rusagro company.
