The active actions of the Pazardzhik Regional Directorate under the supervision of the prosecutor's office to prevent and combat crimes related to citizens' electoral rights continue, dariknews.bg reports.
The activities are being carried out in view of the upcoming elections for municipal councilors in Pazardzhik municipality on October 12. On October 2, teams from the "Combating Economic Crime" sector at the Regional Directorate in the regional city inspected a house in the village of Aleko Konstantinovo in the Pazardzhik region.
The property is owned by a 60-year-old man from the same village. During the work, law enforcement agencies collected data that he offered benefits to citizens in order to persuade them to exercise their right to vote for a certain candidate for municipal councilor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
During the search of the house, the police found a notebook with personal data of people - names, settlements, addresses and specified amounts of money. The amount of 15,000 leva in cash was also found.
An investigation is underway into the case, and the work on documenting the case continues under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
