A one-year-old child loses consciousness and is admitted to a hospital in Athens, Greece, after his father smokes marijuana next to him, Greek media reported, quoted by BTA.
„Proto tema“ reported that the girl was admitted to a children's hospital with intensive arrhythmia and had to be intubated. Doctors assessed that she was at risk of cardiac arrest.
The emergency call was made on Saturday morning by the child's mother.
The investigation found that the girl's 27-year-old father, an Egyptian citizen, had smoked drugs nearby the previous day and the child had inhaled the smoke.
He was arrested for endangering a minor.
The media in Greece reported that the child responded positively to medical care and has already been extubated, stabilized and transferred to a pediatric clinic.
