A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison under an initial strict regime for one of the most brutal murders in Sofia, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office reported. The investigation was conducted by the SDVR under the leadership and supervision of the SGP. The Supreme Court of Cassation confirmed the verdicts of the lower instances.
The defendant was found guilty of intentionally killing a young woman on November 25, 2021, at the former “Distribution Station – Poduyane“ in Sofia, by inflicting multiple blows with his hands, feet and hard objects on the head and body. In doing so, he caused her severe craniocerebral, thoracic, abdominal and musculoskeletal injuries and other disabilities. The murder was committed in a particularly painful way for the victim.
The case was reported in 2021. The man, who was then 28 years old, was detained by the police. The medics who arrived at the scene of the crime only declared the victim dead.
