An employee of the State Fund "Agriculture" was detained at the moment of receiving a bribe. This became clear at a press conference, at which details of the conducted specialized police operation were presented, Nova TV reported. The report was filed by an agricultural producer from the Kostinbrod municipality area.
On November 4, 2025, a specialized police operation was conducted under the leadership of the District Prosecutor's Office - Sofia and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Sofia, during which an employee of the State Fund "Agriculture" was identified and detained at the time of receiving a bribe. The detainee is a junior expert in the institution. He has been appointed to the position since 2017.
According to the report filed at the end of October, the employee requested a material benefit from an agricultural producer from the Kostinbrod municipality area - a sum of money in the amount of 1,000 leva. The purpose of the bribe was for the upcoming inspection to go "smoothly".
Following the report, a number of investigative actions were taken, including operational and search measures, which lasted about a week. As a result, on November 4 at around 5:00 p.m., officers from the "Economic Police" sector proceeded to detain the person at the time of receiving the money. It was established that the detainee had also used a company car of the State Fund "Agriculture".
Currently, a procedure is underway to bring him as a defendant for a crime. The penalty is up to 6 years of imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 to 10,000 leva. His detention measure is pending.
