New revelations about the motive behind the bloody shooting on the capital's "Tsar Simeon" street have come to light. 45-year-old Stilyana Draganova, known as Stella, was shot by her ex-husband Rumen Hristov - the Boxer (55 years old), who then committed suicide.
According to information from "Telegraph", the root of the tragedy is jealousy, caused by the woman's infidelities, one of which was with a loan shark.
The two lived together for 17 years as a family, without being married. From their relationship they have three children - their eldest daughter Veronika (18) is a veterinary student, and their two sons, Antonio and Boril, are 16 and 10 years old, respectively.
During his lifetime, Rumen complained to relatives that Stella had begun to mentally abuse him after he caught her cheating. It turned out that she had other lovers. In addition, according to acquaintances, she did not let him see the children and systematically filed domestic violence reports against him with the police.
Rumen Hristov had good financial opportunities. He was involved in importing cars, specializing in the electric car business. He also worked in the USA, where he also earned income. According to rumors, in earlier years he was also involved in draining credit cards abroad.
Stella, who is originally from Targovishte, did not work at all during their relationship. According to neighbors from the capital's "Hladilnika" district, where Rumen's three-story house is located, she only cared about her appearance. The boxer even paid years ago to have silicone breasts implanted.
Their relationship finally broke up in November 2020, shortly after Rumen learned about her systematic infidelity. Stella was forced to leave the house and moved out to rent on "Bulgarska Morava" Street. In early 2021, she registered a company and opened a liquor and cigarette shop on "Tsar Simeon" Street - meters from the place where she died.
According to the man's neighbors, the suspension of financing for Stella has greatly embittered her. She even formalized her relationship with one of her lovers - a man named Georgi, who allegedly engaged in usury.
In October 2021, Rumen filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office that Stella was mentally harassing him. In the complaint, he claimed that she was threatening him with her new boyfriend Georgi, who had "serious connections both in criminal circles and in the Ministry of Internal Affairs".
The conflict escalated with other incidents. Their house in "Hladilnika" was set on fire. Stella accused Rumen, but at the time he was in Oregon, USA, and the police cleared him of suspicion.
On another occasion, Rumen saw a "Tesla" jeep that Stella had let her use, being driven by an unknown man – probably another of her lovers. He followed the man and took the keys. Stella convinced him not to report it, but the next day she filed another harassment complaint against him.
To defend himself, the Boxer hired Sofia's top lawyer Lyubomir Takov. “I managed to save him from prison, but unfortunately not from death. This woman was toxic to him“, lawyer Takov laconically commented to “Telegraph”.
