The recording studio of the "Chinari" ensemble was robbed. The theft took place in the heart of Sofia on "Pirotska" Street in broad daylight on Sunday, BNT reports.
Discs with the entire video and audio archive of our oldest ensemble "Gotse Delchev" were stolen from the studio.
Security cameras captured how at 3:15 p.m. the thief calmly entered the building on the corner of the capital's "Pirotska" and "Washington" streets and goes up to the third floor.
"At the same time, I'm on another floor. I'm giving percussion lessons", said Kaloyan Pavlov from the ensemble.
The thief reaches the door of the recording studio and breaks it down. He goes inside and starts collecting everything that can be easily taken out.
"And he's in no hurry at all, he stays there for about 20-22 minutes. He takes all the small electrical equipment. All the hard drives, three sound cards, a digital console, wireless microphones", added Pavlov.
He even took an instrument case from the studio, in which he collected the stolen items, to make it easier to take them out.
"And he leaves completely calmly, he doesn't even use the elevator on the stairs. He doesn't hurry, nor does he hide his face. "He leaves like that," the man adds. He goes along "Pirotska" Str., towards "Hristo Botev" Blvd., where, according to BNT sources, he tries to place part of the stolen goods in a pawnshop, which has refused to accept the items. For the people of "Chinari", the most valuable thing is the content of the discs. "This is the entire video and audio archive of the oldest ensemble "Gotse Delchev" and of the ensemble "Chinari" with a 32-year history, performances, recordings, including all those broadcast on BNT. We don't have all of that", Pavlov added.
The ensemble asks that if anyone buys the discs, they not format them and keep the recordings on them.
"For us, information is the most valuable thing. The technique, as they say, to be alive and well, we will make it and buy it again, I hope," said Kaloyan Pavlov.
People from the area say that they have often seen the thief on "Pirotska" and neighboring streets.
