The Prosecutor's Office requested a suspended sentence for former policewoman Simona Radeva - 1

The Prosecutor's Office requested a conviction from the Sofia District Court for former policewoman Simona Radeva - a two-year suspended sentence with a four-year probationary period.

Radeva is accused of helping Georgi Semerdzhiev hide after the accident on July 5, 2022 on “Cherni Vrah“ Blvd. in Sofia, in which two young women died. According to the prosecution, she brought Semerdzhiev a ladder, which he used to climb up and enter his apartment through the window after failing to find the keys.

The state prosecution took into account Radeva's good procedural behavior and her clean criminal record.

At today's court hearing, the prosecution indicated that Radeva had information about the accident earlier from police officer Yakimov - her friend, who went to the scene of the accident on official business. A little later that night, she received a call from Semerdzhiev's phone with specific instructions on what to do, to which she agreed.

According to the prosecution, Radeva went to the car wash with a clear awareness of her actions, took the ladder and thus helped Semerdzhiev hide by entering his home through the window.

Earlier at today's hearing, Radeva gave explanations behind closed doors. Her defense attorney, attorney Mario Naydenov, requested this due to the possible disclosure of facts related to her private life, BTA reports.
