In a private home in the town of Koynare, a man killed his cohabiting wife with an axe, the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Pleven announced.
A report of the incident was received yesterday at 11:04 a.m. Police officers were immediately sent to the scene. Inspections were carried out. Material evidence was seized from the crime scene. The body of the 67-year-old woman was brought for an autopsy.
The 70-year-old perpetrator was detained for up to 24 hours. The procedural and investigative actions continue under the leadership of a prosecutor at the Pleven District Prosecutor's Office, the police added.
At the end of February last year, again in the town of Koynare, a 24-year-old killed a 35-year-old man. The murder then occurred after an argument between the two.
