During an operation by the State Crime Prevention and Control Service in the Svishtovo village of Tsarevets, a man and a woman were detained, who tortured animals, filmed the violence and sold the videos.
The animal abuse took place in a shed and a garage, which were converted into a film studio, confirmed to NOVA by sources who wished to remain anonymous.
The filming of the torture took place in the father's house of 53-year-old Detelin Avramov. It is not clear how long this lasted. During the operation by the State Crime Prevention and Control Service and international services, leather suits and devices for torturing animals were found in the property today. The man and a 53-year-old woman, who are suspected of having committed the abuse together, have been detained.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated, the Prosecutor's Office confirmed. Charges are expected to be filed tomorrow and preventive measures imposed - detention for up to 72 hours.
