The site where the videos filmed in a gynecological office in Sofia were uploaded is not Bulgarian and had paid access, with payment being made in cryptocurrency, the spokesperson for the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office (SRP), Prosecutor Nikolay Nikolaev, told BTA.
He added that the IP addresses of the user who uploaded the materials to the site are outside Bulgaria - more precisely, in a country outside the European Union. We suspect that it may be a hacker attack. We also have data linking it to the case in Burgas, said Prosecutor Nikolaev.
The police have detained a medical professional. We have no evidence that he distributed the materials. We are investigating the data we have, Nikolaev also said.
According to him, investigators have searched eight addresses and seized a standard security camera, a computer and a mobile phone, which are awaiting examination.
The SRP has initiated its own investigation following information published in the media regarding videos distributed on adult websites, filmed in a gynecological office in the capital. An investigation is underway into the case, which involves the distribution of pornographic material in Sofia via information or communication technologies on an unspecified date between January 1 this year and February 4.
