A truck ran over a pedestrian on “Shipchenski prohod“ Blvd. in Sofia, bTV reported. The incident occurred near “Ivan Dimitrov-Kuklata“ St. at tram stop No. 20. According to information from a witness to the incident, a man aged around 75-80 was getting off the tram when he was hit.
The elderly man died on the spot, and the truck driver fled. Tram traffic on “Shipchenski prohod“ Blvd. has been temporarily suspended.
One person died and 17 were injured in accidents in the country over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior announced this morning. There have been 16 road accidents in the past 24 hours with casualties and fatalities. Four serious and 22 minor accidents were registered in Sofia, with four people injured. Since the beginning of the month, there have been 96 accidents in the country, with four deaths and 110 injuries.
