The “Inspectorate“ Directorate at the Ministry of Interior prepared a report on the investigation of signals related to the association “National Agency for Control of Protected Areas“ and the work of employees from Ministry of Interior structures on them, the Ministry of Interior announced.
The report was published in compliance with an order of the Minister of Interior dated February 5, 2026.

The signals against Ivaylo Kalushev's NGO:
From 2022 to the present, the Ministry of Interior has received four signals against Ivaylo Kalushev's NGO. A case was opened based on a report addressed to the Minister of Interior, due to the agreement concluded between the organization and the Ministry of Environment and Water, which was then headed by Borislav Sandov. At that time, the SGP opened a case.
The second report is from the grandparents of an 8-year-old boy. They claim that the child is at risk. The case was investigated by the General Directorate of the Interior, the Regional Directorate - Godech and the 06 Regional Directorate - SDVR, as well as under the supervision of the prosecutor's office. The reports were not returned with additional instructions. The prosecutors in Kostinbrod and the SRP refused to initiate pre-trial proceedings.
An anonymous report was also sent in February 2022. It claims that Kalushev is the leader of a Buddhist religious group that commits fornication with minors, creates pornographic materials and possesses illegal weapons hidden in secret places.
The search activities were not properly documented, the Ministry of Interior's inspection shows. The inspection was terminated in May 2023 due to the expiration of the deadline.
A file on a report of threats and self-harm in the area of the “Petrohan“ hut is again missing. It was filed in the Berkovitsa Regional Police Department and forwarded to the Godech Regional Police Department in March 2024. A physical lack of the file was established, which makes it impossible for the commission to formulate an unambiguous conclusion on the substance of the report, the report states.
