Customs officers seized 14,985 contraband clothing and perfumes with world-class brand names during a bus inspection.
On 05.03.2026, customs mobile teams from the “Customs Intelligence and Investigation” Directorate of the Central Customs Administration stopped a bus with Turkish registration, selected after a risk analysis, for inspection in the Kardam region. The bus was traveling from Turkey to Romania. The vehicle was escorted to the specialized hall for a thorough customs inspection in the Kardam border crossing area. During the control actions, customs inspectors found a large quantity of undeclared 14,050 textile products and 935 packages of perfumes in the bus, all with logos of protected trademarks.
The smuggled “branded“ goods were seized. Acts of administrative violation were drawn up against the carriers.
The inspection carried out is part of the compensatory measures of the “Customs“ Agency in connection with the abolition of border control at the internal borders of the EU after Bulgaria became a full member of the Schengen area.
