Today, the Supreme Court of Cassation will consider the case of the murder of Dimitar Malinov from Tsalapitsa. The Supreme Magistrates must decide on the sentence of the convicted person for the crime, Rangel Bizuryev.
This came to this after appeals by the defendant and the mother of the murdered Dimitar Malinov, who is demanding a life sentence for Bizuryev. His defense, on the other hand, is demanding a reduction in the sentence or a retrial of the case.
In December last year, the Court of Appeal in Plovdiv sentenced Rangel Bizuryev to 17 years in prison. He was found guilty of causing the death of Dimitar Malinov on the night of July 20, 2023, and the twins Valentin and Borislav Dinkovi helped him bury the body near the village. The two were sentenced to 4 and 4 years and 6 months in prison, respectively.
