A 33-year-old man from Shumen was detained in the police custody for causing minor bodily harm with the use of a pneumatic weapon. At around 6:30 p.m. on March 23, an unknown person shot a 57-year-old man in the yard of his home on "Akacia" Street in the city.
He was taken for examination to the Shumen hospital. After an X-ray examination, it was found that there were "cup" bullets lodged in the lower back, left palm and left forearm. He was admitted for treatment, without danger to his life.
During the course of the rapid operational actions, the perpetrator, a 33-year-old man from Shumen, a neighbor of the victim, was identified and detained for up to 24 hours at the police station in Shumen.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated for a crime under Art. 131, para. 1 of the Criminal Code.
