A gang of three criminals, led by a 68-year-old man with dozens of theft records, robbed a pawnshop in Razgrad. The criminals from Berkovitsa were detained in Burgas a few hours after the attack, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Razgrad announced.
The missing jewelry was noticed shortly after 6:00 p.m. on March 23. According to police data, the gang stole a gold ladies' bracelet weighing 4.75 grams and a massive gold chain weighing 14.38 grams. The total value of the missing jewelry exceeds 2,000 euros.
The group of thieves, consisting of a 68-year-old repeat offender, a 20-year-old young man and a woman of their age, operated throughout the country. The perpetrators traveled in a "Mercedes" model C220 car, so as not to arouse unnecessary suspicion. When they were arrested in Burgas, not only the items from the pawnshop in Razgrad were found in their possession, but also loot from another theft in Nessebar.
The oldest member of the gang turned out to be well known to law enforcement. The police confirmed that the 68-year-old guest has an impressive 40 criminal records, mainly for theft and pickpocketing. The three detainees are currently being escorted to the Razgrad detention center, where they are expected to be formally charged.
